Last updated: 17 January 2026
1 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work properly and provide information to site owners.
2 How we use cookies
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to work. You can't opt out of them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you logged in | Session |
| CSRF token | Security (prevents cross-site attacks) | Session |
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use Task Board. This helps us improve the product.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes users | 2 years |
| _ga* | Maintains session state | 2 years |
Google Analytics data is anonymised (IP anonymisation is enabled). You can opt out using our cookie banner or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6 Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I see a cookie banner every time I visit?
If you see the banner repeatedly, your browser may be clearing cookies when you close it, or you're using private/incognito mode. Your cookie preference is stored in a cookie itself, so if cookies are cleared, we can't remember your choice.
Will I stay logged in if I reject analytics cookies?
Yes. Session cookies that keep you logged in are "strictly necessary" and work regardless of your analytics cookie preference. Rejecting analytics cookies only stops us from collecting usage statistics.
Do you use cookies for advertising?
No. We don't run ads on Task Board and don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our only third-party cookies are for analytics (Google Analytics) and payment processing (Stripe).
Can I use Task Board without any cookies?
Not entirely. The session cookie is required to keep you logged in securely. Without it, you'd need to re-enter your credentials on every page. However, you can reject analytics cookies and Task Board will work normally.
How do I change my cookie preferences?
Clear your browser cookies for task-board.app and refresh the page. You'll see the cookie banner again and can make a new choice. Most browsers have a "clear site data" option in their settings or developer tools.
